Search Designation-Systems.Net
Two free site search engines are offered:
- Google Search: This yields to usual high quality search results of Google, but has an update cycle of about 4 to 8 weeks.
- FreeFind: FreeFind is not quite up to Google's standards, but it will refresh its index of this site about once a week.
This service uses the standard Google search engine, restricting the results to pages in the domain Designation-Systems.Net. Google's update cycle is about 4 to 8 weeks, so the most recent content cannot be found with this engine. Google allows phrase search, which makes it a useful tool to search for designations like e.g. "EP-3E". Refer to Google for further Search Tips.
FreeFind
This service is powered by the FreeFind site search engine. The Designation-Systems.Net website will be re-indexed about once a week, so the search results should be reasonably up-to-date. This site uses the free version of FreeFind's service, so the result pages will have some ads on them. See paragraphs below search box for search tips.

The following box is a copy of FreeFind's "Search Tips" page:
By default the search engine tries to locate pages which have exact matches for all of the words entered in your search query. If that fails, it then tries to locate pages which contain any words in your search query. If that happens a short message is displayed at the top of the search results indicating this has been done. In addition, there are several ways to modify the default search behavior.

The usefulness of FreeFind's automatically created Site Map is limited, at best ;-).
