AeroVironment (BlueHalo) Freedom Eagle-1 (FE-1)
In October 2023, the company BlueHalo revealed their Freedom Eagle-1 (FE-1) surface-to-air missile design, a low-cost interceptor against small to medium-sized ("Group 2" and "Group 3") UAV threats. In June 2024, FE-1 was selected as one of two finalists for the U.S. Army's NGCM (Next-Generation C-UAS Missile) requirement, and in October 2025, it was announced as winner of the NGCM selection. Earlier that year, AeroVironment Inc. had acquired all assets of BlueHalo. Together with the NGCM win, AV also announced a U.S. Army contract to deliver FE-1 systems for the Army's LRKI (Long-Range Kinetic Interceptor) program
