NRO Mission Numbers

The National Reconnaissance Office is assigning "Mission" numbers to satellite-borne reconnaissance and intelligence payloads. If the payload is the primary or only payload of a satellite, the Mission number is frequently used to refer to the mission of that specific satellite as a whole. The Mission numbers are assigned in "blocks" for some common program or scope, typically defined by a multiple of 100. This "base number" (XX00) is then used to refer to the program/scope in general, while the individual Mission numbers run XX01 and up.

The NRO Mission numbers are classified. Therefore most numbers listed here refer to older, now declassified, programs. A few others have been leaked to the public, but in general, the Mission numbers for current or recent programs are unknown.

The BIT mission numbers after Mission 7094 are redacted in source [6]. It's not unlikely, that the series was continued as Mission 7800, after 7099 had been reached.
