In early 1945, the USAAF tested the XOQ-15 radio-controlled target drone. Unfortunately, source does not list a manufacturer or model name of the vehicle. The OQ-15 was probably built for a similar specification as the Radioplane OQ-17, because the quoted characteristics are almost identical and the OQ-15 and -17 contracts had adjacent numbers. At least five examples of the OQ-15 were built before the program was terminated.
Note: Data are approximate values only!
Data for OQ-15:
|Wingspan||3.6 m (12 ft)|
|Weight||70 kg (150 lb)|
|Speed||260 km/h (160 mph)|
|Ceiling||4600 m (15000 ft)|
|Propulsion||Kiekhaefer O-45-3 piston engine; 26 kW (35 hp)|
